Caregiver Compensation - Arizona

Arizona offers two ways to get paid as a family caregiver.

 

1. Arizona Non-Medical, Home and Community Based Services: is a non-Medicaid program that assists elderly and disabled adults who cannot complete activities of daily living. Services provided range from adult day care and respite services to home delivered meals. 

 

Program Requirements

    • MUST be 60+ or 18-60 with a disability
    • Some programs require 65+ with a disability 
    • MUST be functionally impaired/unable to perform activities of daily living 
    • CANNOT be qualified for AZ Medicaid 
    • All caregivers eligible

2. Arizona Self-Directed Attendant Care: is designed to allow elderly and/or disabled individuals who would otherwise require care in a nursing facility to remain at home. This consumer-directed program enables care recipients to choose, train, and schedule their care and caregivers. Costs of certain medical and accessibility equipment are also covered. 

 

Program Requirements

    • MUST be Arizona resident 
    • MUST be 65+ with a disability 
    • MUST require nursing home level of care 
    • MUST be enrolled in Arizona’s Long Term Care System 
    • MUST be Medicaid eligible
