Colorado offers three ways to get paid as a family caregiver.
1. Consumer Directed Attendant Support Services Program (CDASS): is designed to allow elderly and/or disabled individuals who would otherwise require care in a nursing facility to remain at home. This consumer-directed program enables care recipients to choose, train, and schedule their care and caregivers.
Program Requirements
2. Elderly, Blind, and Disabled Waiver: enables elderly and/or disabled adults who require nursing facility level of assistance to receive care at home. This program allows the care recipient to choose and pay family members or friends to provide personal care services. Other services under the program include adult day care, respite services, and accessibility-related home modifications.

3. Home Care Allowance Program: is a non-Medicaid program that allows elderly and disabled adults who cannot complete activities of daily living to remain at home. This program allows friends and family members to be hired and paid for providing personal care services.
