Texas offers three ways to get paid as a family caregiver.
1. Community Care for the Aged and Disabled (CCAD): is a non-Medicaid program that helps adults with severe disabilities receive care from home. Under this program, certain family members can be hired and paid to carry out personal care services. The program may also offer services such as adult day care and meal deliveries.

2. STAR+PLUS: enables elderly and disabled adults to receive care at home or in a community setting. This program pays for family members to provide personal care services. Services include: respite care and home modification services.

3. Texas Community First Choice: enables elderly and/or disabled adults who require nursing facility level of assistance to receive care at home. This program allows certain family members to be hired and paid to carry out personal care services.
